Black Redstart

This Black Redstart had been at Dunraven  for at least 10 days, so when the opportunity came  I made the effort.
An early finish on the Friday with good light was a must!
Feeding on flies on the walls of the Lodge allowed close approach. Of all the Black Reds I have seen this one was by far the most confiding!
I returned the next morning but the clear night didn`t help, it departed!

  1. Cracking shots ! Birds of prey are notoriously tricky to find and photograph in the wild, but luckily there’s an easier option: visit a local falconry centre and you’ll be able to get a lot closer to birds of prey than you would in their natural habitat.

  2. Superb work ! amazing pictures ..Pictures of birds on feeders really don't inspire, so make sure your feeders are situated in an area where there are good natural perches
